
Jesus Parra is a Venezuelan conductor, violist, and educator whose work spans the United States, South America, and Europe. Winner of multiple distinctions, including the 19th Curso Concurso Beca (2018) for Conductors and Pianists and the 2023 Denver Philharmonic Conducting Workshop & Competition. In 2025, he participated as a conductor in the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music, working under the mentorship of Cristian Măcelaru, Octavio Mas-Arocas, and Stacy Garrop. He is also a recipient of the Promising Artist Scholarship at Andrews University (2021–2025)
Born with a passion for creating stories through music. His artistic journey began in Venezuela, where he was trained in the internationally renowned El Sistema program. He discovered conducting at the age of twelve and later performed as a violist with the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Caracas from 2011 to 2016, which traveled on international tours throughout Europe, South America, and the United States.
A strong believer in the social impact through music, Jesus currently serves as an Upper Strings Teaching Artist in the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s OrchKids Program, dedicated to expanding musical access for students across Baltimore’s schools and communities. His work reflects a profound belief in music’s power to transform lives through education, opportunity, and shared experiences.
